Taqueria La Ventana, Mexico City Brought to Dallas
- 04 Apr 2019
From the array of colors of the design of the restaurant to the simplistic core ingredients of the street taco, Taqueria La Ventana has established itself as a true authentic experience. That is what they aimed for when creating Taqueria La Ventana back in 2013.
It all began when owner Mike Karns and executive Chef Nico Sanchez had an unoccupied window in the back of their restaurant Meso Maya. They came together, having already established an elegant Tex-Mex restaurant, and decided to create a whole different atmosphere for the community.
What started as a simple concept of selling authentic Mexico City street style tacos out of the back window of their restaurant has grown into establishing several locations in the DFW area.
From their house made corn tortillas to their colorful layout you are sure to feel the cultural essence they are trying to relay. With some ice cold margaritas in hand, which you can catch on their weekday happy hour for only 3 dollars as well as beers and micheladas from 3-6 p.m, we dove into some house favorites. From the queso to the plenty of different options of tacos that were offered, we were ecstatic in good times and even better food. The tacos, which are $1.95 regardless of what time it is, are true to the message of authenticity that Chef Nico has pushed for.
Be sure to check out every location whether in Downtown Dallas or Addison for a Mexico City experience in your neighborhood
