Beto and Son’s roots all can be tracked back to the land of Durango, Mexico. It was Beto Rodarte’s childhood where he developed a love for enticing flavors from traditional dishes made of fresh quality ingredients straight from the farmland he and his parents lived on. The same inspiration received from his mother on to Beto, which led him into the culinary world, was inevitably passed on to Julian Rodarte, the second half of Beto and Son.
 
Both father and son have took similar paths into the culinary world with emphasis on their concepts of traditional and authentic culinary experiences directly from farm to table inspired by family recipes. You can see this influence the second you walk into Beto and Son, whether it’s a table side guacamole being mashed up or being lost in smoke from their signature liquid nitrogen margaritas.
 
Everything from their tortillas to their bread are made in house or locally sourced daily to bring the freshest ingredients from kitchen to table. Not only do they pick out their ingredients they hand select and craft, through their partnerships, select tequila brands to have their own line of Beto and Son aged tequilas. From their huge patio, which show cases salsa nights on Wednesdays, to their instagram worthy margarita “tree” displayed in their dining room, there is plenty of good vibes to get your dining experience started.
 
With complimentary chips and salsa, which also included a unique black bean hummus dip that we had to get seconds of, and margaritas in hand we dove into some popular dishes offered at Beto and Son. From the beef stuffed tacos to egg topped enchiladas we were taken on a culinary experience that was heartfelt as you truly appreciate the customs and traditions that Beto and Julianne were pushing for when creating this restaurant. A must get is their shrimp ceviche which is presented in a tower form which will ultimately get devoured and end up as an empty plate.
 
From decades of tradition and hard work, Beto and Son have created more than just a restaurant. Beto has brought the authenticity of Mexican dishes you normally wouldn’t find at most Hispanic restaurants such as their next gen noodle bowls. Julian has matched this with creating the same environment and experiences he had growing up in restaurants with a heavy emphasis not only on the food but the family ties and togetherness that dining brought.
